The Paradox Trail links the Tabeguache Trail on the Uncompahgre Plateau and Kokopelli's Trail in the La Sal Mountains of Utah. The Paradox Trail traverses more than 100 miles through a wide variety of terrain, elevation and ecological zones. The proposal is to construct approximately four miles of new single-track trail and one small trailhead to address trespass issues.
The Ridgway Trail Group proposal is in an area that currently offers an undeveloped multiple-use trail system along the Uncompahgre River from the Town of Ridgway, as well as routes leading in to the adjoining Ridgway State Park. The proposal is to construct, re-route and/or provide maintenance on approximately 20 miles of sustainable multiple-use single-track trail on BLM lands to address increased use in the area. It would include construction of a trailhead on the north side of Ouray County Road 10, and construction and maintenance on one to two miles of single-track trail on the BLM Uncompahgre Riverway Site on the west side of the Uncompahgre River. The BLM will accept comments on both proposals through March 28, 2011. Written comments may be submitted by mail, e-mail, or fax.
Please be specific in describing your concerns and recommendations.
