“This is a fun show,” said OCAA’s Celie Madison. “We take everything. Our other big show in August is strictly fine arts: sculpture, oil, acrylic, watercolors, pastels, photography. This is a fun wintertime show.”
Entries must be ready to hang, but bin work is accepted. Work should be dropped off at the Ouray Community Center on Friday between 9 a.m. and noon. Pick-up is Sunday, between 3 and 5 p.m. OCAA members and students age 18 and under may enter artwork in the show for free; there is a $15 submission fee for non-members.
There is no cost to attend the sale, which runs Friday, 1-7 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday, noon-3 p.m. A People’s Choice Award in the amount of $50 will be presented, and there will be artists’ demonstrations, as well as a silent auction to benefit OCAA’s scholarship fund. (Each year, one Ridgway High School senior and one Ouray High School senior receive a scholarship to continue their education in the arts.)
