The play opens Friday, May 15, and runs through June 6 on the Magic Circle Main Stage.
It’s the classic tale of a scullery maid turned princess, with a magnificent Rodgers and Hammerstein score and choreography by Natasha Pyeatte. Cinderella will enchant children and adults alike.
Directed by Dave Frank, with assistant director Keith Distel, the large cast performs the timeless fairy tale, complete with pumpkin coaches, wicked step-sisters (Robyn Brown and Misty Walker) and their mother (Lisa Rediger), and a fairy godmother (Ellen Engebretsen) who changes Cinderella's prospects with a wave of her wand.
MCP veterans John David Gann and Emily Capshaw, as Prince and Cinderella; Jon Capshaw, the King; and Maggie Magee, the Queen, lead the lively troupe through familiar situations, which culminate when the clock strikes midnight and Cinderella fears her dream is doomed.
Cinderella plays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays through June 6, with matinees on two Sundays, May 31 and June 7, at 2 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 249-7838. Magic Circle Players Community Theatre is located at 420 South 12th Street, Montrose.
