According to artist Nicholas Tobier, "Lisa Dawn Gold's work explores the very essence of drawing, as it spills over into sculpture," and "can be contexturalized but not compared."
New York Times art critic John Russell has dubbed her work "both startling and suggestive," and Village Voice critic Kim Levin says that "exploring function and definition, [Gold's] work is almost too clever for its own good."
Gold will donate 20 percent of her sales of work during the exhibition to the Telluride Medical Capital Fund. The mission of the Telluride Medical Capital Fund "is to expand the scope and sophistication of healthcare services in the Telluride community."
Complimentary transportation to Studio Space will be available from the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village; to make a reservation, call 970/209-4497. To RSVP for the reception, call 646-537-5776.
