I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our forward-thinking school board of the Telluride R-1 School District and our community for hiring and welcoming Superintendent Dr. Kyle Schumacher and High School Principal Mike Conran. Under their decisive leadership, our school will continue to achieve 21st century goals and beyond. As President Obama said in his recent State of the Union address, we need to work together, regardless of prior party factions, to become one great nation. Change is certainly difficult for all of us, but I, for one, want to commend the district for bringing in such innovative, decisive administrators who aren't afraid to ask the hard questions and expect excellence from all of us.
This is my 24th year as an educator in this district and I am the happiest I have ever been under our new leadership!
