I am writing this letter on behalf of Art Gray, a 39-year-old Montrose resident who is affected on the right side of his body by cerebral palsy. Art loves to swim, walk, ski, rock climb, and, especially during the summertime, climb mountains.
Art has successfully climbed three 14,000 foot-plus mountains – namely Handies, Sneffles, and Pikes Peak – and really enjoys hiking in groups. Art’s goal this summer is to climb a local Telluride mountain…Ajax Peak. Through a partnership between the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program (providing volunteers and adaptive support on the hike) and the San Juan Outdoor School (offering a nicely discounted price), Art is able to make this dream happen, but needs your help to fundraise a portion of what it will cost to make this trip feasible.
If you are interested in helping Art achieve his goal and would like to donate some money to his cause (realistically, even $5 or $10 will go a long way to this goal), then please call TASP at 970/728-010 to help make Art’s dream a reality.
Thank you all for your support.
