It’s one of the most anticipated films of the year: An engineer (played by Sandra Bullock) is on her first Space Shuttle mission, a newbie position not much appreciated by the ship’s commander on his final expedition (former Telluride tributee George Clooney). A disaster leaves them struggling to work together to find a way home. Director Alfonso Cuarón’s previous credits include the A Little Princess (1995), Y Tu Mamá También (2001), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and Children of Men (2006), for which he was nominated for Oscars for writing and editing.
