RIDGWAY – Four seats on the Ridgway Town Council are up for election this spring.
The nomination period for said elected positions begins on Monday, Jan. 28 and ends on Friday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m., said Ridgway Town Clerk Pam Kraft. The election takes place on Tuesday, April 2.
The seats are currently held by Eric Johnson, Ellen Hunter, Jim Kavanaugh and Bo James Nerlin. Nerlin was appointed to fill the last few months of Rich Durnan’s term when Durnan left to join the Peace Corps. The remaining members, whose terms are not up this year, are Rick Weaver, Jason Gunning and Mayor John Clark.
“Because we have an appointed position that is being replaced at this election,” Kraft said, “the [winning] candidate receiving the lowest vote total at the election will receive a one year term. The other three terms will be for two years.”
