Classy Brunch at the Elks for Mother’s Day

The Telluride Elks Club is going upscale, and what better way to unveil its makeover than with a brunch for Mother’s Day?

To that end, Chef Kendra Wilcox – “chef of the month” is how Lady Elk Harley Brooke-Hitching describes her – has come up with a menu for the meal that’s downright gourmet (see menu, page 17).

“Mothers are our guests,” says Brooke-Hitching, of the $20-for-men and $10-for-children fixings that range from poached eggs in puff pastry shell to Mickey Mouse-shaped pancakes.

While no reservations are necessary for the 12-2 p.m. extravaganza, Brooke-Hitching promises VIP treatment to those who call ahead (970/728-6345), for whom, she promises, “I will make sure you get to the front of the line.”
