Save the Date for Ouray Oktoberfest

OURAY – Live Bavarian music will be returning to the Ouray Oktoberfest this year with the homecoming of the Austrian Connection band. Event coordinator Barbara Uhles urges the public to save the date – Saturday, Oct. 3 – for an exciting day of German food, socializing, singing and dancing at the Ouray Community Center, sponsored by the Ouray Chamber Resort Association.

Those interested in dressing up for the event will find authentic German and Austiran clothing and accessories at the websites www.ernstlicht.com or www.berglandtrachten.com, according to Uhles, who researched costumes online. Both websites “have a variety of both men’s and women’s clothing that can be ordered direct and some costumes are currently offered on sale,” she says. “We also have a catalog from Ernst Licht available for your perusal at the Ouray Visitor Center.”

Wearing a Bavarian costume to the event may just pay off, with cash prizes offered for first and second place; $250 and $100 respectively. The annual raffle drawing for a Jeep Wrangler will also take place. Othere for a 2009 Jeep Wrangler. Don’t forget we will also be drawing the winning name of this year’s raffle drawing for the 2009 Jeep Wrangler. Other great door prizes will also be distributed.
