OURAY — Ouray Brewing Company’s Camp Bird Blonde Ale was the recipient of the Judges Award for Best Lighter/Summer Beer at the 14th annual 2012 San Juan Brewfest in Durango, CO in late August.
OBC’s blonde ale was selected as top of its category from a field of over 30 local and regional breweries including Breckenridge Brewery, Colorado Boy Brewery, New Belgium Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., SKA Brewing Co., and Telluride Brewing Co.
“We are thrilled that our Camp Bird Blonde ale was picked as a winner from among such great breweries,” said OBC owner, Erin Eddy. “We work hard to make great beer, and it’s really gratifying when those efforts are recognized.”
The annual Brewfest is held as a benefit for the United Way of Southwest Colorado; this year’s event was the biggest ever. OBC will be defend its title at next year’s Brewfest in August, 2013.
Telluride DMC Realize Planning Selects Eileen Burns as New Director of Sales and Marketing
TELLURIDE - Realize Planning, LLC, a Destination Management Company serving the high country of Colorado, including Telluride and Mountain Village, has hired Eileen Burns as director of sales and marketing for its Telluride division.
Burns moved to Telluride in 1999 to pursue a lifelong dream of living in the Rockies. Before Telluride, she was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Chicago Event Management and the Chicago Marathon. In 2000, she went to work for Telluride Ski & Golf, where her winters are spent as a supervisor for their Children's Ski School. In 2004, she launched Burns Publications, LLC after purchasing Telluride Maps. Burns enjoys writing, and is the managing editor of Telluride Style magazine. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a BS degree in Journalism.
