‘Insurance Stimulus Raffle,’ Dinner, Silent Auction, and Dance

OURAY – The annual Ouray Elks Charity Ball kicks off at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 with an “Insurance Stimulus Raffle.” A $50-ticket buys one of 200 chances to win a $1,000 first prize and twenty total cash prizes, as well as a roast pork dinner for two at 5:30 p.m. with a dance starting at 9 p.m. featuring the popular band The Last Bus.

Ouray Elks Exalted Ruler Danny Wesseling promises a great meal and dance, cool items at the silent auction, and $3,750 in raffle prizes.

“The insurance costs for our great historic building have increased dramatically in the last year,” said Wesseling. “All of the profits from the raffle go towards paying the insurance bill. The raffle and the accompanying dinner and dance are open to anyone, not just Elks members, and the odds of winning are way better than the lottery. We’ve got a great band, so buy a ticket anytime before 5 p.m. on the first – we’ll be open all afternoon – and come have a great time. If you just want to dance, admission for the dance only will be $10 after the dinner, which is open only to raffle ticket holders.”

For more information or to buy tickets, call Wesseling at 970/729-1174 or Julie Wesseling at 970/729-2079
