Saturday, May 30 was the 5th Annual Second Chance Humane Society Pet Adoptathon in Ridgway and it met with good community turnout and new homes for five homeless pets. Many people that stopped by the Second Chance Shelter may not have been looking for a new pet but just wanting to meet the great variety of pets available for adoption. The music by Steve Feldberg and Tony Rosario attracted others, as it is not often you hear quality live music in the Shelter parking lot. We were pleased with the results of the event. Although we did not meet our goal of a dozen adoptions, we still adopted out more pets than we ever typically do in one day and that makes it all worthwhile. Additionally, we had a fantastic volunteer turnout and I would like to send them all a huge thank you!
