Sometimes I am marveling at the sub-zero temperatures that roll over us for a few days each year, and how our area manages to smoothly function through those days...
I wonder who the toughest folks are on the mountain – the ski patrol? – hmm, – or perhaps the ski instructors, out there in snow storms, snow or shine – it might be them – or perhaps the search and rescue crews, looking for the lost, and mostly found?
It might be the sheriff's department, or the marshals?
It is really hard to tell, it feels like a tie. But there is a crew, with some wonderful same familiar faces smiling at us passengers through tough weather, handing us warm blankets to wrap in, and while watching for our safety they even say:"...and have a good night!" while they keep on working at the Gondola stations. Up at over 10,000 feet high, way into the dark night. Many of them drive long hours home after they finished their shift. Thank you, Gondola crew!
It is really hard to decide, I think it is a tie... And so here is a BIG thank you to all the hardy heroes of our towns, and county...! We are lucky to have you.
