Telluride Historical Museum Solicits Input in Bid for $5,000 Prize

TELLURIDE – The Telluride Historical Museum is competing with nonprofits nationwide for $5,000 in prize money, going to support the museum in its mission, to preserve the rich, colorful and diverse history of the region and to bring history to life through exhibits, programs and education.
Specifically, the museum would use the cash to bring in special guest speakers, bus kids from the West End to the museum, or secure funding for the new outdoor mining exhibit and educational area they plan to unveil this summer.
“We can do great things with the money,” says Lauren Bloemsma, executive director.
To help, anyone with firsthand knowledge about the museum who is not a paid employee (or donors, volunteers, boardmember or services recipient) can review the museum on
The Winter 2011 GuideStar-KIMBIA Nonprofit Giveaway (guidestar.org or greatnonprofits.org); reviews will appear in the museum's profile on both GuideStar and GreatNonProfits, GuideStar's partner that makes it possible to write and post reviews. The giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT Monday, Feb. 28, and the organization with the most reviews wins a grand prize of $5,000.
