SAN MIGUEL COUNTY - Discounted four-day passes to the 40th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 20-23, 2013) for San Miguel County residents are on sale Nov. 1-30 at Telluride Music Co.  During this special pre-sale, county residents can buy two four-day passes at the discounted price of $180 each.

After last year's historic early sell-out left many county residents without access to any tickets, festival organizers came up with a new sale plan. To that end, Planet Bluegrass is offering 2,500 tickets at the local discount this year (compared with 850 last year) in a  special November pre-sale; tickets will go on sale to the general public on December 5.

The discounted locals’ tickets will be sold exclusively at Telluride Music Co. (201 East Colorado Ave.), for cash (or local checks) only; store hours are Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday (11 a.m.-5 p.m.). The store is closed Sunday and Monday.

Residents of San Miguel County must present a proof of residency (a local ID or utility bill) at the time of purchase, and can buy two four-day passes. The $180 price, reflects a $15 discount off the advance ticket price of $195.

If the allotted 2,500 four-day passes are not sold during the pre-sale they will be sold to the general public for $195, starting December 5.

Four-day passes are fully refundable if returned to Planet Bluegrass by Friday, March 22, 2013. No single-day tickets will be sold during this pre-sale. Planet Bluegrass can't predict the pace of ticket sales for the 40th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, but history has shown that anniversary years typically generate a larger-than-normal initial ticket demand.
