Drive 8 miles east on U.S. Highway 50 from Montrose to the junction with Colorado Hwy 347. Turn left and drive 6 miles to the South Rim Visitor Center
Description:
Witness Black Canyon under the magical luster of a winter full moon, Saturday, February 23, 7:00 pm. Join park rangers to ski the South Rim Ski Trail and experience the enchantment the canyon offers by moonlight. Ski about 2 miles to Pulpit Rock Overlook and back, a trip of moderate physical exertion. The trip meets and leaves from the South Rim Visitor Center. Please bring your own equipment, including skis, poles, warm clothes, and portable light. The South Rim Visitor Center will be open with hot chocolate, tea and coffee available.
