Description:
Lustre Gallery will host local glass artists Bengt Hokanson and Trefny Dix together with an exhibition of their work. Based in Durango, CO, Bengt and Trefny’s blown glass vessels are sculptural forms on which they create abstract paintings. The color washes and textural patterns they apply to the glass, flow across the surface creating a lively, visual movement. Their work evokes a variety of images. Impressions of a landscape, sails blowing in the wind and ice blocks against the blue sky are captured in glass. Bengt and Trefny create their work by using a combination of traditional Italian and Swedish glass blowing techniques as well as many experimental techniques that they have devised in their studio.
