The Watch has launched a mobile edition, bringing the news from the Western San Juans to cell phones.

Stories appear on the mobile edition shortly after they are posted at http://watchnewspapers.com/pages/home.

The charter sponsors of watchnewspapers.mobi are ASAP Accounting and Payroll Services, Nevasca Realty, and the Telluride Tourism Board. A small ad from each of the sponsors rotates in a position at the top of the mobile edition. Users can click through either to the sponsor’s website or can reach them by phone, depending on the sponsor’s preference.

“As is frequently reported, the news business is changing, and we are doing our part to keep up,” said Watch publisher Seth Cagin. “We want to deliver the news in any format that makes sense for us, our readers, and our advertisers.”

To access The Watch mobile edition, simply go to watchnewspapers.mobi from the browser on your phone.

Alternatively, users can sign up for the mobile edition by going to watchnewspapers.com and clicking on “mobile Watch” on the toolbar at the top of the homepage. (Or click here.) From that page, users can not only sign up for the mobile edition, but also for text alerts from The Watch.
