Hey it's quiet around here right now, but festival season is right around the corner, with both the Telluirde Jazz Celebration and Bluegrass Festivals coming up in June.
Also, check out neighboring Moab for the Desert Rocks Festival - great lineup!
Desert Rocks Spring Equinox Ticket Special ends this Thursday April 16th at midnight.
The 2009 Desert Rocks Schedule has been released on the Desert Rocks website. Featuring yoga and tai chi in the mornings, two sets by The Mother Hips, spoken word by Al Howard, ALO into magicgravy on Saturday eve, aerial ballet performances by Kate Law, and music into the wee hours, this year's schedule is going to keep you rockin to the break of dawn!
Check it out at bluegrass.com!*
*1) Three Girls & Their Buddy - a songwriter in-the-round set with Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin, Buddy Miller. All 4 of these artists are long-time friends of the festival. Shawn first wowed the Telluride audience in 1990, Patty last played in 1997.
2) Works Progress Administration - a new LA supergroup made up of Glenn Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek), Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Luke Bulla (Jerry Douglas Band), Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), Greg Leisz (Lucinda Williams, Bill Frisell), Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello & The Imposters), and Davey Faragher (Cracker, The Imposters). Good stuff. http://wpamusic.com/

4) Lovell Sisters - 3 sisters from Georgia (ages 17 to 22) who are great pickers, great singers, and full of youthful sass. Rebecca Lovell (mandolin) was the first woman to win any of the Merlefest instrument contests. *
